Meeting Minutes
Monday, March 19, 2001

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Jake Hamlin
In attendance: Jake Hamlin, Glen Terry, Curt Shippy, Becky Pope, Cindy Holton, Bill Marhoun, Roger Adams, Scott Adams, Dan Dobson, Todd Ullom, Dave Johnson, Jennifer & Mark Delaney, Dan & Marnie Hintz
Motion: Dave Johnson moved that the 3/19/01 agenda be approved. Glen Terry seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
Motion: Bill Marhoun moved that the 2/12/01 minutes be approved. Roger Adams seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
Glen Terry reported a balance of $4,475.56 ($37 cash on had, $275 in Pin Sales, $2,571.53 for Safety Seminar Fund, and $1,592.03 in the general membership fund.)
Motion: Roger Adams moved that the 3/19/01 Treasurer’s Report be approved. Dan Dobson seconded the motion. The motion was passed.
A. Safety Seminar - Dave Johnson reported that attendance this year will surpass last year. Last year’s attendance was 43, and this year 58 are already registered. The committee will be moving materials out to Aamodt’s next week. The event will begin Friday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. and go to about 9:00 p.m. Dave would like to have new people as well as people from the past attend. There will be people coming in from out of town so it will be a good time to visit!
Jr. Balloonist - Aerostar Balloon Camp. Dave reported that BFA Jr. Balloon Members are expected to submit a one page SA on ballooning. If accepted they can attend the one-week camp. Contact Dave Johnson for further information.
The Minnesota Office of Aeronautics will be having a Career Education Camp. It will be offered three times during the summer. June 24-30, 2001, July 15-21, 2001, and August 12-18, 2001. For more information see the following address
The Owatonna school system will be offering a three-day camp for junior high students. There will be two events during the months of July and August. Contact Curt Shippy for more information.
Ed Yost Marker Status – Glen received confirmation that the MBA donation was received. As of March 06 $3,800 was raised. Excess monies will be going toward the Jr. Balloonist Program. The dedication events for the Yost Marker will be Saturday, May 19, 2001 in Bruning, Nebraska.
2001 Direction - Jake distributed a questionnaire for attendees to complete regarding their interest in the future direction of the MBA. Jake will be compiling the information and distributing prior to the next meeting.
Meeting was adjorned at 8:00 p.m.
