Treasurer’s Report

Cash on hand: $2720.34

32 members have paid their 2004 dues so far.

21 people have paid for the Safety Seminar

Election of Officers

President = Wynn Gustafson

Vice President = George Ibach

Treasurer = Glen Terry

Secretary = Kim Dickey

Thanks to all of the 2003 officers for their time and efforts through the year.

Old Business:

• Safety Seminar
• The BFA has approved the agenda/speakers
• 8 speakers are lined up
• If anyone has any slide/video presentations or anything to share on Friday night, please bring it to the BBQ or contact Dave Johnson

• Newsletter
• Articles may be submitted to Sam Blackburn
• Discussion held on ways to generate some revenue to help offset the cost of the newsletter. Ideas were:
• Selling advertising in the newsletter
• Soliciting more MBA members
• Having a classified section
• Discussion held on maybe making more copies to put in libraries, schools, etc. to promote the sport of ballooning

• Promoting Ballooning

Ways to promote ballooning were discussed. Ideas were:

• Do a Winter Carnival Race as in the past
• Participate in the Aquatennial
• Barnstorm around Minnesota
• See if a Marketing student needs an thesis project

New Business

• Grand Excursion 2004

This is an event that will focus attention/awareness on the Mississippi River from St. Paul on down. It might be an opportunity for the MBA to promote ballooning.
